For the past few years Caravents Event Production and Design Inc. has helped roll out the red (or rather white) carpet for the seventh annual Essence Magazine’s Black Women in Hollywood Awards.
The awards were held recently at the stunning Beverly Hills Hotel to honour Black Women in Hollywood who are making huge strides in the world of film, music and entertainment. Their contributions to the industry are opening up a whole new of world of opportunities for Black Women around the globe and solidifying a space for all women in the future. As always, we are proud to have been chosen to be a part of the festivities.
Actress Lupita Nyong’o, whose stellar performance in the film “Twelve Years of Slave” was this year’s most honoured guest. A relative newcomer to the Hollywood scene, she is creating quite the buzz because of her grace, beauty and ability to captivate an audience with soul searching speeches. As was expected, she did not disappoint, and neither did the decor.
In true Hollywood style, guests were greeted with an elaborate setting that could have only been created by the imagination of some of the best event planning and graphic design teams in Hollywood.
Everything was absolutely perfect and no stone was left unturned.
The evening began with a walk through our famous step and repeat area. Designed to resemble a grassy knoll, celebrities were
encouraged to take a walk down the garden path to meet and greet with members of the media. Taking this step also led them towards the infamous “shoe cam” which seemed to be the hottest ticket of the night as each guest had fun showing off their latest fashions in footwear.
Literally, the same can be said about the entire event. It takes a great deal of effort and talent from some pretty amazing creative individuals to create backdrops and decor that simply “wow,” and as everyone knows when it comes to designs, celebrities have a unique step all their own. “I didn’t wake up like this!” joked Tika Sumpter about her “red” carpet look.
Congratulations to all winners and nominees, you make us proud and you remind us what Hollywood is all about – dreaming the impossible dream!
